The Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO) is responsible for evaluating patients with limb deficiencies or neuromuscular and musculoskeletal impairments, designing appropriate prosthetic and orthotic solutions, and overseeing the fabrication, fitting, and adjustment of devices.
This role provides patient-centered care aimed at restoring function, improving mobility, and enhancing overall quality of life.
This is a clinical setting with occasional time in fabrication lab environments.
May require occasional travel between clinic locations or to patient facilities including the Operating Room.
Essential Functions
Clinical Care & Patient Management
* Regular interaction with patients requiring hands-on activities such as casting, molding, and device fitting.
* Perform comprehensive clinical assessments of patients requiring prosthetic or orthotic intervention.
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient goals, and functional needs.
* Design, measure, cast/scan, fit, and adjust custom prosthetic and orthotic devices.

The Medical Laboratory Scientist exhibits the certified expertise required to perform complex services, procedures, and related tasks in the clinical laboratory, including in the areas of molecular diagnostics and flow cytometry, while under the direction of a Laboratory Supervisor or Manager.
The MLS will perform a variety of analytical procedures and specimen testing of moderate to high complexity, properly utilizing methodologies and instruments in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures and in compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
The MLS may oversee some procedures being handled by Medical Laboratory Technicians, as needed.
