Under minimal supervision, performs specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as requested by a physician to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Performs any combination of the following duties depending on the area of assignment.
* Performs at least two separate modalities in Diagnostic Imaging such as: X-ray and either Angiography or Computed Tomography of the following areas: neuro, abdominal, chest and extremities.
Assists physicians in performing other fluoroscopic procedures as needed.
* Transports patients by stretcher, bed, wheelchair, or walking.
Provides care for patients during transportation and within the department, if necessary.

Provides bedpans and urinals as needed.

Administers contrast and other preparations as to complete exam in a timely fashion.
Cares for patient during procedures by assisting them to restrooms, providing blankets, etc.
* Monitors patient condition pre- and post-procedure and reports changes in the patient's condition to Radiologist or RN for follow-up.
* Assists with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
* Pulls contrast from Pyxis per protocol and documents contrast in eMar per protocol.
* Loads the power injector for contrast studies.
* Technologist may give contrast medias and may flush lines with normal saline contrast/normal saline.
* Under direct supervision of the Radiologist, the technologist may pull Xilocaine for procedure.
* Under direct supervision of the Radiologist, the technologist may use heparinized saline to flush catheters.
* Performs data entry in computer systems necessary for work flow and patient care, such as: ITS, Meditech, PACS, WITT, eMar and Pyxis.
* Performs related duties such as reporting equipment malfunctions, assisting others, and special assignments.
Cleans work area and replenishes supplies.
* Attends regularly scheduled department meetings and in-services to maintain working knowledge of changes in machines, and protocols,.
Maintains CEUs and CPR for license.

Retail Pharmacy
The Retail Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
The Retail Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist with providing medications to patients in a timely and accurate manner.
The Retail Pharmacy Technician collects, prepares (including chemotherapy and other hazardous substances), and delivers medication orders as directed by the Pharmacist.
The Retail Pharmacy Technician ensures sufficient and accurate drug and supply inventories; this is achieved by assisting with: inventory, receiving, verifying, storing of medications, processing credits, entering and transmitting drug orders, and processing of patient charges.
Pharmacy Technician's work only under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
* Stocking and dispensing medications.
* Maintaining records by filing prescriptions.
* Monitoring inventory by sorting, stocking and labeling pharmacy shelves.
* Clearly communicating with customers and other healthcare professionals and, when appropriate, referring to the Pharmacist with any pharmaceutical questions.
* Complying with rules, regulations and procedures to maintain a clean and safe pharmacy.
* Communicating with patients to collect information about prescriptions and medical conditions or arrange consultations with the Pharmacist.
* Coordinate with insurance representative to process claims and calculate correct co-pay information for patients.
* Calculate dosages, fill prescriptions and prepare labels with accuracy.
* Has Pharmacist check all work before prescriptions are dispensed to the patient.
* Verifies name and address before giving medications to patients.
* Offers patient consultation for all first fill prescriptions.
* Follows HIPAA laws and maintains patient/employee confidentiality.
* Answers phone calls and addresses questions from customers and healthcare providers.
* Matches NDC number on stock bottle with NDC on label.
* Enters patient's information accurately into the pharmacy system, including but not limited to the patient's: address, phone number, allergies, and date of birth.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Licensure: Current California Pharmacy Technician Certificate required.
Experience: Three (3) years' of experience in a retail pharmacy within the last 5 years.
Has experience as an inventory expert.
Has experience processing and communicating with pharmacy benefit managers, including submitting TAR's for Medi-Cal patients.
Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Able to manipulate graduated cylinders, beakers, and oral syringes.

Mammography
Coordinates the day-to-day operation of the Mammography Department.
Under minimal supervision, performs Mammography procedures as requested by a physician to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Assists with maintaining ACR accreditation and MQSA Standards for Mammography.
Trains and serves as a resource person in handling difficult or unusual situations.
Acts as a positive role model for staff.
Works with Manager, staff, and Radiologists to develop and implement Mammography Department policies and protocols.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population of the patients served on his/her unit.

Performs any combination of the following duties depending on the area of assignment.
Primary Job Duties:
* Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Mammography Department to assure efficiency.
* Assists physicians in performing other Mammography procedures such as biopsies, needle locs as needed.
* Transports patients using a gurney, wheelchair, or walking.
Provides care for patients during transportation and within the department, if necessary.
* Assists patients with limited mobility by lifting and moving them off and on the scanning table or onto procedural chair to complete exam.
Provides bedpans and urinals as needed.
* Assures that patients are properly dressed for their procedures.
* Performs and assists with screening and diagnostic mammograms, and bone density as ordered by a physician.
* Prepares patient for exam by consenting, explaining exam and answering patient questions.
* Cares for patient during procedures by assisting them to rest rooms, giving them blankets, etc.
* Evaluates patient condition pre and post-procedure and reports changes in the patient's condition to the Radiologist for follow-up.
* Assists with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
* Performs related duties such as reporting equipment malfunctions, assists others, and special assignments.
* Cleans work area, orders and maintains the department inventory of supplies.
* Reviews and verifies outpatient orders and makes appropriate calls to physician office for clarification, if needed.
* Makes daily staff assignments.
* Serves as a resource person for the technologists, referring Physicians, Radiologists, patient care departments, and other department staff.
* Keeps the Mammography department staff informed on system and/or operation changes.
* Attends regularly scheduled department meetings and in-services to maintain working knowledge of changes in equipment and protocols.
