The Facilities Management Department has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic, reporting to the Facilities Plant Ops Sr.
Manager.
We are looking for a dependable, eager, and coachable individual to join our Maintenance Mechanic team.
In this role you will provide a re-assurance in the upkeep of the facilities with the main duties of performing maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance service, and assist with HVAC and Electrical in the Baltimore location.
What You Will Do:
* Responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste-water disposal
* Conduct scheduled inspections for service and preventive maintenance on non-complex safety and operational equipment and fixtures, i.e.

* Performs remedial painting on non-complex accessories and fixture throughout the facility.
* Support the fleet vehicles (transport to dealer for service, wash, inspect)

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Along with the Foster Care Case Manager the ILP supervisor leads a group treatment team with the responsibility for ensuring each child successfully completes the goals set forth in their service plan.Manage the house to ensure it operates within the rules, regulations and guidelines set forth by the State of Michigans DHHS and MCHS.Establish and oversee administrative procedures to meet objectives set by the Director of Transitional Programs and the leadership team; participate in developing department goals and objectives.Establish and maintain house systems, records and reports; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures for continual improvement of house services.Supervise assigned staff and volunteers to ensure that they are functioning within the requirements of their job duties; provide guidance, training, assistance, and support to staff when needed, including planning, staffing, performance management, professional development, adjusting workloads as necessary, and addressing and resolving complaints to create a climate of teamwork and motivation; perform the duties of an ILP Mentor as needed.Act as staff expert for the house; work with the other supervisors and the DCW regarding house or program licensing/certification rules, re-licensing, complaints, and rulings to ensure ongoing compliance with all agency, licensing, contractual, and legal obligations and requirements.Operate and help in the development of the guidelines of the Employee Handbook, programs Operations Manual, and DHHS Policies and Procedures.Help youth develop essential skills to navigate daily life effectively, achieve personal growth, and improve their overall well-being.Teach essential life skills such as communication, decision-making, problem solving, time management and financial literacy.Organize group workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions.Track clients progress and adjust strategies as needed.
