Overview
This role provides leadership and oversight for company safety, health, and risk management programs, while supporting employee development and engagement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized, with proven communication and problem-solving skills.
This position manages a team of approximately six safety professionals across Colorado and New Mexico and reports to the Region President.
This role requires residence within one of our primary operating areas: Golden, Grand Junction, Pueblo, CO or Farmington, NM.
Salary: $125,000-$150,000 base, DOE, plus 15% bonus
Requirements
* Interface directly with company leadership to address safety concerns
* Assist in maintaining a high level of safety compliance and awareness at company fixed locations (asphalt plants, offices, shops, ready-mix plants, and quarry locations) through site visits and documentation of deficiencies
* Work directly with field crews on a regular basis to promote company safety philosophies, expectations, and personal responsibility
* Interact and consult with other members of the Division and Region Safety Teams to develop new safety initiatives, objectives, and best practices
* Attend training sessions/meetings presented by CRH or national safety organizations as needed

Education/Experience
* High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is preferred.
* 2 years of previous related experience in the construction field.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
* Previous knowledge of heavy equipment required.
Work Requirements
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
* Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
* Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
* Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
* Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
* Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
* Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.
Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
* Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations
