JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Precision Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team.
This role involves interpreting blueprints, setting up equipment, and fabricating high-tolerance metal parts using tools such as CNC press brakes, CNC punch presses, and CNC laser cutters.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and experience working with various metals including aluminum, and mild steel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
* Operate fabrication machinery including CNC press brakes, CNC laser cutters, shears, Hardware insertion equipment, and CNC punch presses.
Experience with TRUMPF CNC machines is a plus.
* Perform layout, cutting, bending, forming, and assembly of sheet metal parts to exact tolerances.
* Ensure parts meet tight dimensional and aesthetic tolerances.
* Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools.
* Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
* Collaborate with engineers and quality control to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues.
* Perform basic maintenance on machines and report malfunctions or safety concerns.
* Ability to operate basic hand tools to include pneumatic riveters, belt sanders, drills and taps.

Education:
* Technical certification or vocational training preferred.
Experience:
* Minimum 2–5 years of experience in precision sheet metal fabrication.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work orders.
* Strong knowledge of sheet metal materials, gauges, and manufacturing methods.
* Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
* Familiarity with machine file software and CNC equipment is a plus.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Other:
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with aerospace, medical, or electronics industry standards.
* Basic computer skills for machine interface and production tracking.
* Experience with tooling selection and set-up

NATURE AND SCOPE
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Platforms will report to the Global Director, Advanced Manufacturing Technology.
As part of the Global Advanced Manufacturing Technology department, the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Platforms will have significant interaction with all regions’ manufacturing plants, regional Manufacturing Engineering and Global Engineering.
This position does not have direct reports.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Lead manufacturing design guidance (DFMA) and process reviews (PFMEA) for new product platforms and related technologies.
* Lead the definition of the Bill of Process (BOP) for each new platform, taking input from all regions and leading consensus on a single, Global BOP.
* Plan, manage and provide oversight for the manufacture of prototype units.
Support region-led pilot builds, as appropriate.
* Identify, develop and specify any new equipment/technology driven by Platform New Product Introduction (NPI) launches.
Support regional implementation of equipment.
* Design and implement complex fixtures and tooling, when necessary, to support a consistent and safe manufacturing process in all regions.
* Incorporate BAC Global best practices into the development of the manufacturing process for new platforms.
* Provide project management for manufacturing related aspects of the NPI launch process.
* Lead improvement and optimization of the manufacturing steps and deliverables for the NPI process.
* Contribute to and optimize manufacturing related key performance indicators for Platform NPI launch teams.
* Support cost estimates/analysis and make appropriate recommendations regarding the manufacturing processes of new platforms and technologies.
* Ensure all Global manufacturing system data is configured to support the launch of a new Global platform.
* Coordinate handoffs to regional functional leaders to support the regional launch of new platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline; Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical preferred
* 3-5 years of experience in like industry: sheet metal fabrication and assembly
* Demonstrated project management skill and sound technical judgment
* Experience employing continuous improvement tools, including Lean, in a manufacturing environment
* Demonstrated leadership and strong engineering skills
* Demonstrated collaborator, implementing new products/technologies in all operating regions
* Excellent communication skills
