Earn £12.60 per hour, £24,638 per annum

Permanent full time 37.5hrs per week 

Based at the Reading Office, supporting the London team

This is a great job opportunity for Housing Assistant to join Sonia Gayle and the Housing Team.

As our Housing Assistant you will be providing support to our Housing Managers in our London Patch.

If you like variety, and supporting customers, and want to develop a career in housing, then this is the perfect job for you!

What you’ll do


* Engaging with customers on the telephone and giving administration support to our Housing Managers, you’ll really get to know our communities.


* You’ll support our Housing Managers to look after their patches and through this, help us to improve our local neighbourhoods.


* You’ll support with tasks such as managing our general enquiries from customers which includes liaising with local authorities and at times engaging and meeting with contractors on site.


* You will support the Housing Managers with following up on compliance checks in our buildings and communities.


* You’ll also manage the admin updating records, ordering, and arranging payment for works to be done.

You have


* A “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised, able to work on your initiative.


* Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business and external partners


* An understanding of housing management, housing law and universal credit would be ideal, but they’re not deal breakers!


* The ability to use technology to navigate our systems and update customer records


* An appreciation that this is a role where you’ll spend much of your time lone working in our local estates.

The practical bits


* You’ll spend an average of 2 to 3 days working from our Reading Office, the rest from home with occasional travel required.


* Although you’ll be based at the Reading office we spend 1 day every 6 weeks in our London office as a team.


* We work Monday to Friday.


* To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes.

The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!


* You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
