Position Summary: 

The Medical Assistant Team Lead will oversee the medical assistant staff in a primary care office under the supervision of the Nursing Manager.

This role is essential in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, maintaining efficient office operations, and fostering a culturally competent environment.

The Team Lead will mentor staff, support patient interactions, and collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance overall patient experiences.

Job Responsibilities:

 


* Supervision and Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of medical assistants, providing guidance and support under the Nursing Manager's supervision.


* Schedule and assign daily tasks to medical assistants to optimize workflow and ensure efficiency.


* Onboard and train new Medical Assistants.

Patient Care:



* Works side by side with Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist with all responsibilities including phone calls, rooming patients and daily checklists.


* Prepare records from external consultations for provider to review and send to consulting providers for new referrals or diagnostic procedures.

Obtain and send medical records as requested by nursing and/or providers.


* Review schedule for the following day for follow-ups and the following week for new patients, ensure medical records are available for the scheduled provider.


* Facilitate transportation arrangements and communicate with patients in need as applicable.
