Treatment Nurse LVN Weekends Only

Weekend Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Oakwood Gardens Care Center - Fresno, CA
Starting at $28/hour (DOE)

General Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct nursing care to residents, including specialized dermatologic and rehabilitative care, while ensuring that all nursing activities are performed in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, as well as the facility's established policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


* Make written and oral reports or recommendations to the attending physician, Medical Director, or Director of Nursing (DON) regarding resident status and care.


* Work with the Interdisciplinary Care Plan Team to develop comprehensive assessments and individualized care plans.


* Serve on and participate in facility committees (e.g., Policy Advisory) as appointed by the Administrator.


* Evaluate and implement recommendations from committees related to clinical and skin care practices.


* Cooperate with other personnel to achieve department goals and maintain strong working relationships with physicians, consultants, staff, and families.


* Identify, manage, and treat skin disorders such as ulcers, infections, abrasions, callouses, and other dermatologic conditions.


* Provide assessments and diagnostic services using clinical evaluation techniques (observation, inspection, palpation).


* Conduct quarterly dermatologic examinations and document results.


* Administer treatments under physician direction for uncomplicated dermatologic disorders.


* Ensure residents with decubitus ulcers receive appropriate prophylaxis and care, including turning schedules, skin monitoring, and dietary support.


* Deliver emergency nursing care to maintain comfort, reduce stress, and promote recovery.


* Assist with resident admissions, discharges, and transitional care coordination with families and outside agencies.


* Participate in in-service training and continuing education to maintain current licensure and professional skills.


* Assist with inventory management to ensure adequate supplies of medications, medical equipment, and skin care products.


* Maintain strict confidentiality of resident health information; promptly report any suspected or known violations or unauthorized access.


* Report and document any complaints, grievances, or allegations of resident abuse or property misappropriation.


* Ensure residents' rights are upheld, including the right to refuse treatment in accordance with facility policies.


* Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications


* Current, active California LVN license in good standing.


* Current CPR certification.


* Knowledge of nursing practices and dermatologic care in a long-term care setting.
