Your Job

Our Molex facility in Caldwell, Idaho is seeking to add a Production Technician with a primary focus on equipment calibration, monitoring, and maintenance, while also providing hands-on support across general production and assembly operations.

This dual-purpose role ensures critical manufacturing and testing tools (particularly for fiber optic switches) function within specification and also contributes directly to the production of high-quality components throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate has a technical mindset, strong attention to detail, and hands-on experience with test equipment, assembly processes, and troubleshooting.

You will work closely with Process Engineers, Quality Assurance, and Production Teams to maintain a highly reliable, efficient, and cross-functional production environment.

What You Will Do



* Perform regular calibration, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on optical and electronic test equipment (e.g., power meters, light sources, interferometers, alignment systems).


* Monitor equipment performance, maintain detailed logs, and support qualification/requalification and auditing of tools and fixtures.


* Coordinate with engineering, vendors, and external calibration services as needed to troubleshoot and ensure compliance with operational standards and calibration procedures.


* Assist in assembling fiber optic switches and other product lines by operating or setting up precision assembly stations, alignment systems, and cleanroom work cells.


* Conduct in-process inspections, functional tests, rework, and troubleshooting across assemblies and sub-assemblies while collaborating with production teams to meet output goals and maintain quality standards.


* Support process validation, tooling trials, equipment capability studies, and root cause investigations related to equipment or production issues.


* Identify and recommend opportunities for test automation, process optimization, and tool enhancements while actively participating in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.


* Create or revise work instructions and SOPs for calibration, equipment use, and assembly tasks.


* Train production operators and technicians on proper equipment handling and ensure compliance with procedures, inspection intervals, and safety protocols.
