Stores and Materials Optimization Director
Your Job
The Director of Stores and Materials Optimization will work closely with stores leaders, procurement leaders, and manufacturing leaders across the division to identify opportunities and implement improvements in storeroom management, inventory availability and inventory value at the Containerboard and Cellulose mill sites.
These improvements may include the inventory addition/removal process, replenishment process, slow moving and obsolete processes, software improvements, maintenance /reliability work flow and experimental discovery/trials.
What You Will Do - Key Responsibilities:
Process Optimization and Improvement :
* Assess current gaps in stores/maintenance work process execution at each mill site, including talent and manpower gaps
* Develop strategies to maintain optimum inventory levels supporting site reliability and operational goals across the division.
* Ensure all storeroom operations improvements are in alignment with the long-term Inventory Management vision of GP.
Organizational Effectiveness:
* Create a strategic plan for implementation and utilization of procurement /stores personnel to execute.
Resourcing, role clarity,
* Supplier capability analysis/ Assess supplier performance to identify supplier capabilities and gaps to optimize inventory via point of use, consigned, committed, shared, and regionalized stores, generating improved inventory availability and lower inventory cost.
Process Health Performance Measures:
* Develop reporting structures to share those gaps with process owners and identify potential solutions to close the gaps
* Implement, report, and improve key inventory management metrics to support continuous sustainable improvements in inventory management.
This may include working with stores and IT to develop reports to create inventory visibility
* Track and support inventory management metrics related to vision and strategy to ensure optimal performance.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Demonstrated ability to work across multiple departments or work teams to identify and close gaps.
* Proven experience and success in executing purchasing and stores work processes in heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, to include inventory management.
* 10+ years of purchasing and stores experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a capacity to engage stakeholders at various levels and drive cross-functional collaboration.
* Experience with multiple work management and inventory systems and platforms
* Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or engineering
