Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for using mechanical engineering principles to design, develop, customize, implement, test and sustain TDW products and services solutions for customer applications.
Works with teams on efforts of significant scope and complexity.
May architect product designs, act as a leader or subject matter expert on a project and provide mentoring to other engineers.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design components, products, and systems
* Produces technical deliverables - 3D models, engineering drawings, design calculations, tolerance analysis, analysis reports, etc.
* Creates or manages the creation of product documents (e.g.
design package, manufacturing documents, operating & maintenance manuals)
* Completes or facilitates engineering change requests to deliver needed improvements to designs and supporting documentation
* Carries out and directs component and assembly design tasks and produces test plans for the designs.
Assists with prototyping, oversees and may perform verification tests.
* Works with system engineering to assist in planning projects and assessing technical feasibility.
Leads technical presentations and progress reports, including design reviews.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
* 5-10 years engineering specific career experience
* Skilled in 3D modeling, FEA, manufacturing processes, GD&T and machine design principles
* Proficiency with solid modeling software
* Experience modeling rare earth magnetic and ultrasonic systems using FEA is a plus
* Familiarity with common manufacturing processes and machining methods
* Understanding of development methodologies and tools
* Experience with PLM systems and general engineering change management is desired
* Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
* Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
* Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
* Competent with Microsoft Office
