Job Summary
Under the direction of the Craft Workforce Development Manager and/or Director of Craft Workforce Development, the Craft Laborer Instructor is responsible for delivering classroom and hands-on instruction in various laborer skills within the organization's training programs.
The instructor ensures training aligns with National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) standards and Department of Labor regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and administer NCCER assessments related to craft laborer skills, including scheduling, delivery, and tracking.
Develop and implement training for laborer apprenticeship and skill-upgrade programs.
Collaborate with the Craft Training Coordinator to ensure accurate and timely documentation of training records.
Maintain the integrity and quality of all craft labor training programs.
Develop and conduct training courses covering topics such as site preparation, material handling, tool usage, trenching, rigging, and workplace safety.
Represent the organization in schools, educational institutions, and industry associations to promote craft labor career development.
Work closely with project teams to integrate on-the-job training opportunities for craft laborers.
Minimum Job Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of field experience in a construction or industrial laborer role.
Education & Certification: NCCER certification preferred or must obtain within six months of employment.
Skills & Competencies:
* Strong understanding of construction site operations, safety protocols, and best practices.
* Experience delivering training and education to field personnel (preferred).
* Must be fluent in English and Spanish
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, or reach occasionally.
Compliance with all safety standards and procedures.
Frequent use of hands for handling tools, carrying materials, and operating equipment.
Ability to lift and pull up to 50 lbs on occasion.
