Port Captain - KIM

Overview

Provide shoreside support to vessel crewmembers regarding all aspects of their operation.

Responsibilities



* Provide managerial oversight for all activities associated with the Vessel and crew performance of assigned vessels.


* Represent Kirby at industry committee meetings and seminars.


* Participate in incident response and review.


* Attend and assist in internal audits of vessels.


* Review, document, and respond to Sales, Traffic, and customer issues.


* Participate in various meetings and training seminars.

Qualifications



* Working knowledge of towing industry.


* Good communication and organizational skills.


* Detail-oriented.


* Ability to operate standard office equipment, personal computer, company vehicle and ERT boat.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.


* Knowledge and use of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, OASIS, and Outlook

Education:

High school diploma or GED.

Tankerman License and USCG OUTV License or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Required 2 years: Minimum two years' experience in the towing industry.

Pr i or management experience required.

Tankerman License and USCG OUTV License or equivalent preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Travel required and On-call on a rotating basis.
