Your Job

Koch Methanol, LLC is looking to hire an Instrumentation Technician to join the St.

James, Louisiana team.

This role will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation systems in our facility.



*This position works a 4-10 schedule Monday-Thursday with a start time of 5:00 AM.

What You Will Do



* Calibrate, install, verify, and validate Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems


* Manage daily maintenance workflow activities utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)


* Perform preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of a variety of instruments including but not limited to, flow, level, pressure, temperature, vibration, variable frequency drives, electric motors, and analyzers


* Inspect, test, adjust, and repair electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to control, indicate, and record operations at our St.

James facility


* Improve, develop, and implement maintenance process improvements and efficiencies


* Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve system performance

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* 3+ years of experience in instrumentation maintenance


* Experience with PLCs, DCS, and other control systems

Physical Requirements



* Ability to be medically approved to participate in the respiratory protection program


* Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs


* Ability to grip up to 20 lbs


* Ability to carry up to 15 lbs


* Ability to pinch up to 10 lbs


* Ability to climb stairs/ladders and work at heights up to 100 ft


* Ability to wear appropriate PPE and/or fire resistant clothing while performing job duties


* Ability to work outdoors in various types of weather
