Job Description:

Internship Goals:


* Conduct regular audits of work areas, equipment, and processes to identify hazards - recommend corrective actions


* Update and create Job Safety Analysis via BasicSafe


* Collaborate with safety coordinator to develop risk mitigation strategies


* Help facilitate the online safety training platform via Vector Solutions - Convergence


* Help facilitate hands on safety training sessions


* Assist with pre-shift meeting safety discussions


* Assist in investigating workplace incidents, accidents, or near misses


* Assist with Root Cause Problem Solving Meetings (RCPS)


* Assist with leading Monthly Safety Committee Meetings


* Assist with policy updates and program reform


* Lead safety projects with the assistance of the Safety Coordinator


* Perform annual safety program performance audits


* Assist with LOTO document audits and upkeep


* Keep mill up to date with compliance calendar

Requirements:


* Minimum 3.0 overall GPA required


* Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related majors


* Basic understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Standards


* Candidate must be willing to relocate to be within driving distance of the facility


* Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
