Job Summary: 

The Senior Scheduling Software Engineer designs, develops, maintains, and troubleshoots satellite planning and scheduling software as part of the Globalstar ground system.  This position works with other team members to ensure requirements amongst subsystems are met, interface controls are adhered to and departmental deadlines and objectives are achieved.

Duties/Responsibilities:


* Participate in design and performance optimization workshops for algorithm development and refinement.


* Design and develop high-performance, highly-optimized satellite tracking scheduling software.


* Work with team members to design and develop REST APIs to interact with the satellite tracking scheduling software.


* Develop and maintain frameworks for building, unit testing and deployment of pertinent subsystems.


* Write specifications and requirements defining application functions, features, and goals.


* Proactively troubleshoot/debug/resolve application and performance issues.


* Work within the established Globalstar Agile/Scrum development methodology using Atlassian products.


* Independently research architectural software issues and recommend solutions.

Skills and Competencies:


* Solid working knowledge of C++ and Python and their development tools


* Some experience developing back-end server applications


* Knowledge of distributed microservice development


* Knowledge of API development tools and specifications (e.g.

Swagger)


* Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks such as GIT, Bitbucket, and Jenkins


* Good working knowledge of RDBs (Oracle, MySQL and associated tools)
