SD Controls Technician

Job Type: Full Time, Hourly

Location: Based out of 115 Lipton Street Ste B, Tea, SD 57064.

Frequent travel required for the role; most often day travel.         

Expected Hours of Work: Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 5PM.

Reports to: Vice President of Automation and Controls

Job Summary  
Controls Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain customer’s equipment.

Work will include, but not limited to installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing a wide variety of water & wastewater controls, such as: VFDs, PLCs, SCADA telemetry, & station control panels.

Essential Functions
1.

Perform highly diversified duties to install, repair, and troubleshoot controls of fluid handling products.
2.

Understanding of basic PLC knowledge (Allen Bradley)
3.

Provide on call assistance for emergency/unscheduled repairs of Control equipment as needed.
4.

Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
5.

Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic.
6.

Read and interpret pump manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
7.

Able to understand and follow ladder diagrams and wiring schematics
8.

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
9.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
10.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Competencies
1.

Knowledge of PLC’s, VFD, motor controls, process instrumentation, and Windows based control software desired.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
