Control Panel Builder
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for building, labeling and wiring custom control panels.
Key Duties and essential functions:
* Manufacture high quality control panels, chemical feed systems, custom instrumentation panels, and other custom equipment efficiently to customer specifications
* Read and understand electrical wiring diagrams and layout drawings
* Read Bill of Materials and identify all components
* Work with parts order team to maintain inventory of miscellaneous panel components and wire
* Properly label control panel components, wire and terminals
* Power up and test completed panel assemblies
* Markup final panel as-builts and deliver to project management.
* Work closely with project management and design to provide the customer with the highest quality product in a timely manner
* Use measuring device to lay out cabinet holes, cutouts and back plate components per project design
* Use drills, taps, punches an saws for mounting and access holes
* Mount components to panels and enclosures
* Routing and bundling of wire and cables to meet wiring standards
* Point to point wiring of relays, power supplies, PLCs and any other instrumentation as required
* Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions
* Package, box, and label parts for shipment to customer
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Required Qualifications:
* High School graduate, or GED equivalent
* Interest in learning about electrical control panels and building a strong career at a successful company
* Prior electrical experience and ability to read wiring diagrams is preferred.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management & clients.
* Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This work requires the following physical activities:
* Sitting and standing for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
