Early Head Start: Supervisor

Job Title: Early Head Start Supervisor 
 

Position Summary:   
 

The Early Head Start Supervisor supervises and guides the EHS Infant Toddler Family Consultants and Home-Based Visitors, ensuring program goals, objectives, and outcomes are met in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.

This role ensures that the program meets federal, state, and local guidelines and provides high-quality services that support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children.  
 

 
 

Duties and Responsibilities:        
 

Program Management & Compliance: 
 


* Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement program policies, procedures, and curricula that meet the individual needs of children and families. 

 


* Ensure that all services are aligned with program goals. 

 


* Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain high standards and compliance with Early Head Start regulations and guidelines. 

 


* Meet with childcare partners monthly to review health and safety screeners, recruitment and attendance, as well as Infant Toddler Family Consultant’s action plans. 

 

Staff Supervision & Development: 
 


* Supervise, mentor, and support a team of Early Head Start Infant Toddler Family Consultants, home visitors, and other support staff. 

 


* Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities. 

 


* Develop staffing plans and schedules to ensure appropriate home visiting programs. 

 


* Coordinate staff meetings to discuss program updates, policies, and professional development. 

 


* Ensure Infant Toddler Family Consultants deliver quality technical assistance and professional development to community childcare providers. 

 

Family & Community Engagement: 
 


* Collaborate with families to support child development and strengthen family involvement in the program. 

 


* Oversee family services and ensure family engagement activities are culturally responsive and support diverse family needs. 

 


* Work with Infant Toddler Family Consultants to build strong relationships with community childcare providers, offering technical assistance and guidance to enhance the quality of care. 

 


* Serve as a liaison between the Early Head Start program, childcare providers, and community organizations to support effective service delivery. 

 

Child Development & Education: 
 


* Ensure the delivery of developmentally appropriate practices in classrooms and home visits to promote the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children. 

 


* Work with curriculum specialists and education staff to ensure the implementation of research-based, high-quality curricula and assessments.
