Harm Prevention Program Manager

The Harm Prevention Program Manager is an experienced leader who provides oversight for the Harm Prevention Program operations, planning, and portfolio of work.

The manager shares accountability with Quality and Safety and Patient Care Services leadership for harm prevention outcomes.

The manager ensures that the Harm Prevention Program goals are aligned with the enterprise organization goals and the Quality & Safety strategic plan.

The Program Manager has an in-depth understanding of current pediatric healthcare delivery systems and the range of external influences impacting hospital acquired conditions.

This position will continue to shape the Harm Prevention Program and guide projects, directly translating and disseminating the Quality & Safety Strategic Plan into structured planning, leading and facilitating effective innovation, improvement, and change.

This role demands strong leadership, relationship building skills, and the ability to influence multidisciplinary stakeholders and Executive partners on critical and sometimes controversial change in ambiguous environments.

The Program Manager is an advocate for patient safety efforts and quality improvement within the organization.

They should be contributing to and cultivating a psychologically safe patient safety culture.

The Program Manager will demonstrate exceptional critical thinking skills, develop a systematic approach to harm prevention, lead and grow teams, and develop individual team members.

Position Responsibilities


* Collaborates with Quality and Safety Department Leadership for operational oversight of the Harm Prevention Program.


* Oversees the harm prevention portfolio of work.


* Leads the implementation of infrastructure to support continuous improvement strategies, to reduce preventable harm, and sustain harm prevention initiatives.


* Develops and oversees a system to support and sustain programmatic growth


* Collaborates with stakeholders (e.g., Quality & Safety, Nursing, Physicians, Materials Management) and other subject matter experts across the enterprise to support the Harm Prevention Program


* Acts as a coach, teacher, and mentor for projects, teams and to leadership on effective approaches to leading enterprise-wide, strategic initiatives.
