Operator, Pipeline Trainee (Beaumont, TX)

Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems.

The partnership's assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.

The Pipeline Operator Trainee is responsible for operating the terminal.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


* Inspects and makes terminal equipment adjustments as directed.


* Controls the flow of product, ensures product quality, and maintains record keeping system to monitor operations.


* Communicates with Pipeline Control concerning operations of the pipeline (switches, batch totals, deliveries, etc.)


* Performs manifold line-ups, tank gauging, and performs routine terminal operations.


* Monitors and ensures that product quality remains within acceptable standards to meet customer expectations.


* Maintains ongoing communication with other terminals concerning pipeline problems that would affect operations.


* Assist in developing paper work, logs and records related to inventories and quality controls.


* Performs remedial and preventive maintenance within the terminal.


* Maintains constant surveillance of the terminal relating any problems or potential problems to the senior Operator.


* Knowledgeable of environmental regulations and company policies concerning handling and disposal of environmental wastes.


* Attends training programs on a continuing basis.


* Attends all safety meetings and safety training courses as required by regulatory agencies.


* Performs any other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:


* High school diploma or G.E.D.

equivalent is required.


* Technical certification or equivalent training/pipeline experience is desired.


* Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.


* Possess a strong commitment to personal and job safety.


* Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.


* Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations and possess basic computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
