Senior Scrum Master

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

We are looking for an experienced scrum master to oversee and guide scrum teams.

The scrum master's responsibilities include ensuring that IT delivery teams follow scrum framework values and agile practices, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments.

To be successful as a scrum master, you should have a firm grasp of agile practices and the ability to effectively manage and coach delivery teams.

An outstanding scrum master should have excellent interpersonal, project management, and problem-solving skills.


* Using agile values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.


* Coach and Mentor: Guide and coach the Scrum team on adopting and implementing Scrum principles, values, and practices.

Help/Train team members understand and follow agile methodologies, including continuous improvement, self-organization, and cross-functionality.


* Facilitate Scrum Events: Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Ensure that these events are properly organized, timeboxed, and productive.

Act as a guardrail of the Scrum process.


* Remove Obstacles: Identify and address any impediments or obstacles that may prevent the team from achieving its sprint goals.

Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure a smooth workflow for the team.


* Serve as a Mediator: Act as a mediator between the Scrum team and external parties, such as business product owners, functional managers, or other teams.

Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure a clear understanding of requirements, priorities, and expectations.


* Facilitate Decision-Making: Enable the team to make decisions effectively by fostering an environment of open communication and transparency.

Help the team reach consensus through discussions and encourage them to take ownership of their work.


* Monitor and Track Progress: Track the progress of the team's work during sprints and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Use appropriate metrics and tools to measure and communicate the team's velocity, progress, and any potential risks.


* Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the Scrum team.

Encourage the team to reflect on their processes and identify areas for improvement.

Facilitate retrospective meetings to capture feedback and implement actionable changes.


* Scrum Framework Expertise: Stay up to date with the latest Scrum practices, methodologies, and tools including Scaled Agile Framework.

Share knowledge and provide guidance to the team on adopting new practices or optimizing existing ones.
