Summary: The Application Engineer is responsible for inside sales support for customers and salesmen, order entry, order acknowledgements, project submittals, deliveries, pump quotes and technical support.
Functions and Responsibilities:
* Manage complex, discrete and/or sensitive projects to ensure smooth delivery to the internal or external customer
* Write quotes to customers
* Complete project assignments, as directed, within allotted time frames
* Receive customer phone and email inquires
* Provide general support to outside sales team
* Communicate with the Accounting team to resolve issues regarding invoicing, deliveries, and shipping
* Any other relevant job duties that may be assigned
Education and Experience:
* Minimum Associates or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and or prior experience in the pump industry.
* Knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps and air compressors) is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Solid computer skills including proficiency with CAD, spreadsheet and database applications
* Must possess the ability to think and solve problems with creative understanding.
Must have a good eye for detail and be able to suggest process/specification modifications as required
* Ability to organize and prioritize jobs
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Specification and mechanical drawing interpretation
* Must understand pumps, air compressors and related processes
* Strong organizational abilities and project management skills
* The ability to work cooperatively with peers to achieve organizational goals
* High degree of independence, self-motivation and self-direction, especially with regard to identifying and managing high priority projects, in a fast-paced environment
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
* Sitting (Working at a desk) - up to 80%
* Standing - up to 30%
* Walking - up to 30%
* Lifting - up to 25 lbs.
with good body mechanics (lifting devices are used for heavier loads)
* Moderate deviations of the wrists
