Physician Support Specialist

Department:
Clinical Informatics

Provides support to the members of the Medical Staff as needed and scheduled.

Responsible for physician documentation/orders processes through provider training in use of the Electronic Health Record and maintenance of various electronic health record software applications.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following applications: Voice Recognition, Meditech Physician Care Manager Module.



* New provider training and general support as requested on all provider documentation, including Meditech PCM training, Voice Recognition software (Dragon), PDoc documentation templates, CPOE training to include Orders/Manage Transfer/Discharge Process, Medication reconciliation process.



* Monitoring of new trainees for quality of their documentation.

Contact provider and assist provider in correcting documentation errors.



* Maintain a working knowledge of the Electronic Health Record (EHR), PDOC Dictionaries and their contents.

Make recommendations on changes to the dictionaries and templates based on physician work flow and process.

Works collaboratively with Clinical Informatics Team to complete approved updates to PDoc templates.



* Dragon administrators.

Support and maintain Voice Recognition software through the provisioning of licenses, creation of physician specific macros, custom vocabularies, and template build as necessary.

Coordinate the development of macros as necessary.



* EPCS Credentialing Administrators.

Initial setup and maintenance in DrFirst for EPCS access.

Training providers in the use of EPCS in conjunction with the VIP access application.

Assistance with renewing token, resetting of passwords and troubleshooting of Rx failures.



* Works collaboratively with staff including but not limited to providers, nurses, HIM, Case Managers, Medical Staff Services, IT and Clinical Informatics to resolve issues related to both Meditech documentation and Order Entry, voice recognition software and TigerConnect messenger.



* Creates and maintains monthly medication reconciliation reports to include admission, discharge and trending.

Other reports as requested.

Maintains Order Set Master List including creating monthly files.

Determines which order sets needs to be reviewed according to the last approval dates.

To include making screenshots of order sets up for review and sending to CMIO for approval.

Once approved emailing appropriate provider to review/approve.



* TigerConnect administrators.

Provisioning and revocation of licenses.

Training and support of secure text messaging application including maintenance of directories, creation and maintenance of TC Teams, TC Roles, and Broadcast Lists.

Creation of TigerConnect archived reports, upon approval from CMIO/Director of Health Information Management/Risk Manage...
