Director- Procurement

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for the strategic sourcing of materials and services for the company.

This includes setting the specific strategy, managing RFPs, contract management, supplier engagement and selection, aligning with our business goals, leading the strategic sourcing team, and monitoring and reporting to senior management the vendors' performance in sourcing initiatives as well as assisting with all sourcing events within the company.

This role works closely with the Supply Chain Operations group within the organization.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Job manages a team, has authority to hire and performance-manage the team.

• Job leads/supervises/manages 1-5 employees.

• Establish trust and alignment within the organization regarding vision and strategy for our company.

• Maintain processes and procedures that ensure delivery of core supply chain metrics in terms of competitive costs and services for all of the company's sourcing initiatives.

• Assist in the developing and the recommending of category sourcing materials and services to be delivered.

• Assist in the design, implementation and analysis of data that reflect the company's spend opportunities and how best to create sourcing processes that maximize results.

• Assist in the development of key strategic buying plans strategic supplier engagements.

• Manage the assigned strategic sourcing efforts for our organization.

• Ensure all final proposed "Supply Agreements" resulting from the company's strategic sourcing efforts are following the objectives established at the launch of an engagement.

• This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures.

This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills:

• 10 years of experience in related field is preferred.

• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products and ERP systems, SAP preferred.

• At least 5 years in purchasing experience, with packaging knowledge.

Experience managing food ingredients and commodity items such as meat, poultry, and dairy is preferred.

• At least 5 years in leading a team of employees.

• Demonstrated success in collaborative/team-based cultures.

• Experience with market price analysis, market forecasting and interpreting trends in a global commodity / Packaging environment.

• Comfortable working with all levels within an organization from production floor to executive suite.

• A self-starter with the ability to be strategic.

• Strong communication skills both oral and written.

Preferred Education

• BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.

• Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.
