Registered Nurse II/III/IV - Resident Education and Continuity Clinic

ABOUT THE POSITION

The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System- Behavioral Health is currently recruiting for Registered Nurse II/III/IV for our Resident Education and Continuity Clinic located in Riverside, CA.

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

The most competitive candidate will have experience working in mental health/behavioral health settings.

Resident Education and Continuity Clinic (RECC)
The Resident Education and Continuity Clinic provides mental health services to the underserved adult population of Riverside County.

The clinic will provide medication, therapy, and interventional services.

Additionally, the clinic will also serve to educate Resident Physicians in psychiatry.

This position will work with an interdisciplinary team and educate resident physicians in training.

Under general supervision, performs professional nursing duties in the care of patients in an acute care facility, a healthcare clinic or home, mental health facility, Emergency Management Department or Department of Health program; assists physicians and carries out their orders; may coordinate a continuum of care for a selected group of patients from pre-admission through post-discharge; and performs other related duties as required.

Work Schedule :9/80 Monday- Thursday 8:00 am - 5:30pm; Friday 8:00am - 4:30 pm with every other Friday off.

Required Licenses and Certs:


* A Valid California Registered Nurse License


* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* A valid California Driver's License.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Within the full scope of the Nurse Practice Act, assess, plan, organize, and provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with physician instructions; make preliminary observations of, and prepare patients for, medical treatment.

• Assist physicians in administering treatments and in performing medical examinations, diagnostic tests, and surgical operations.

• As directed, administer or dispense prescribed treatment and medications to patients; chart treatment and dispensing to patients, and record and report significant changes in condition and general progress of patient.

• Counsel and advise patients, families and significant others regarding special medical problems and/or proper healthcare methods.

• Prepare and maintain concise and complete records and reports; instruct patients in carrying out physicians' orders; may transcribe physicians' orders to working records.

• May provide orientation and training to new staff, residents, medical students, ROP and nursing students.

• May participate in quality assurance reviews; may act as a team leader or relief charge nurse.

• Assign and monitor the work of subordinate nursing personnel; participate in committee activities; identify staff training needs.
