Carrier Service Assurance Engineer

What you will do to contribute to the company's success


* Enhance network documentation and communication protocols to prevent errors that lead to circuit outages and improve issue resolution.


* Implement proactive maintenance and advanced monitoring to detect and address potential issues before they escalate into significant problems.


* Improve network stability by implementing best practices and optimizing network configurations.


* Reduce the impact of external factors like fiber cuts and backbone issues by working with engineering teams and our customers to develop mitigation strategies.


* Assist in the recovery of credits from type 2 vendors for outages caused by them and challenge unjust credit requests.


* Host meetings with the NOC to discuss recurring outages and work with them to resolve issues and improve network and SLA performance.


* Facilitate meetings with the engineering team to establish new routes and augment the network and ensure that network enhancements align with overall performance and reliability goals.


* Ensure the accuracy of monthly SLA reports and verify that they are delivered to customers on time and prevent credits by making sure all SLA requirements are met and documented correctly.


* Provide reporting on trouble ticket history and SLA noncompliance for customer scorecards and present these in customer facing meetings.

Qualifications


* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.


* Minimum 3 years of experience in carrier service assurance, network operations, or network engineering.


* Strong knowledge of network technologies, protocols, and standards, such as TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, SNMP, etc.


* Proficient in network troubleshooting tools, such as ping, traceroute, Wireshark, etc.


* Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.


* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


* Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.


* Ability to work on-call and respond to network emergencies as needed.


* Certifications such as MEF, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, etc.
