The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City has an excellent career opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform repair and maintenance of various building systems including, but not limited to, construction activities, modular furniture systems, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and related equipment.

Key Activities:


* Perform general carpentry and building related construction tasks, including moderately complex service calls.


* Reconfiguration of commercial office furniture, installing keyboard trays, office or desk key delivery, and hanging artwork.

Some paining and drywall refinishing could be included, as well as modular carpet installation and drop ceiling tile.


* Assist other technicians in all phases of various facilities related assignments.


* Vendor Contract management.


* Able to work overtime as necessary.


* Will receive work orders and requests via work order system.  Responsible for determining requirements, schedule work, identify repair parts and other materials required to complete assignments.


* Completes miscellaneous ad-hoc tasks, as assigned.

Qualifications:


* Typically does not require any previous experience.

Three or more years of relevant experience preferred.

Experience in a skilled craft/trade, such as carpentry, construction, building automation controls, energy management systems, etc.


* High School Education or GED.


* Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

Preferred Qualifications:


* Ability to read, understand, and explain manufacturers’ warnings, labels, instructions, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).


* Ability to read, understand, and provide redline feedback of engineered MEP drawings.


* Ability to operate portable power tools (e.g., drills, saws, etc.), table saws, grinders, and non-powered hand tools.


* Ability to read and properly interpret construction drawings and project plans.


* Performs work independently with limited supervision and direction.


* Ability to multitask and use time efficiently to meet project deadlines.


* Excellent attention to detail.


* Excellent troubleshooting skills.


* Good general computer skills, including but not limited to internet application and Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office.


* Must be able to effectively document changes made to systems, equipment, or the structure and communicate these changes to the appropriate staff and management.
