Program Assistant (Jail Diversion Center)

Description

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Program Assistant for the Jail Diversion Program.

Under the general direction of the Program Director for Jail Diversion utilizes a combination of administrative and secretarial skills to support the program.

Primary duties include on-site coordination of coverage for front desk training of staff to ensure accuracy of reporting on the E-Board.

Also responsible for ensuring law enforcement officers are treated respectfully and are provided priority when dropping off clients for the program.

Also responsible for paraprofessional schedules/coverage and liaising with external vendors as necessary.

Assistant will reconcile on a daily basis

the District Attorney's (DA) list of referred clients with the clients admitted to the Jail Diversion program and provide a report back to program administration and the DA's office and law enforcement.

What you will do:


* Communicates and works with callers

patients' staff and visitors appropriately; demonstrating a professional

polite and culturally sensitive manner.


* Works collaboratively with agency stakeholders to fulfill requests and/or share the required information.


* Provides orientation for new staff as well a son-site training.


* Obtains the additional access required for on-site job responsibilities (i.e.

med carts

lab access and maintaining key counts) for designated staff.


* Ensures 24/7 paraprofessional coverage for Jail Diversion program.


* Complies with the Harris Center policies and procedures and contractual requirements including punctuality

attendance

and access to facility.


* Other duties assigned.

What qualifications you will need:


* High School Diploma or General Education Diploma


* Bachelor's degree (B.A) from four-year college or university preferred.


* 3 years prior experience at a psychiatric residential program.


* Demonstrate the ability to deliver professional customer service in a collaborative environment with many stakeholders.


* Knowledge of Microsoft Word

Excel

Access

Power Point and Outlook.


* Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.


* Possess critical thinking

problems solving and listening skills.


* Must have well-developed interpersonal

organizational and collaborative skills with a desire to provide a high level of customer service.


* Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of all work-related matters.
