Join Maximus' Technology Consulting Services team supporting a Department of Defense client's exciting and innovative software development program designed to develop and deploy digital capability to cyber mission forces around the world.
-This position is contingent upon award-
The Back End Developer will be responsible for:
- Developing services that execute business logic functions.
- Designing, implementing, and managing databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to store and retrieve data efficiently.
Back-End Developers work with database systems to ensure data integrity and optimal performance.
- Implementing security measures to protect sensitive data, prevent unauthorized access, and address potential vulnerabilities.
This includes encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in the back-end code to ensure optimal speed and responsiveness of the application
- Performing user research and usability testing to develop and prioritize user stories across project lines of effort.

Join Maximus' Technology Consulting Services team supporting a Department of Defense client's exciting and innovative software development program designed to develop and deploy digital capability to cyber mission forces around the world.

The Back End Developer will be responsible for:
- Developing services that execute business logic functions.
- Designing, implementing, and managing databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to store and retrieve data efficiently.
Back-End Developers work with database systems to ensure data integrity and optimal performance.
- Implementing security measures to protect sensitive data, prevent unauthorized access, and address potential vulnerabilities.
This includes encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in the back-end code to ensure optimal speed and responsiveness of the application
- Performing user research and usability testing to develop and prioritize user stories across project lines of effort.
- Contributing to goals identified through program requirements in collaboration with government clients during agile planning events.
- Developing quality code which can pass security reviews and scans.
- Working effectively within an ecosystem of government and contractor staff.
- Achieving velocity and story point completion goals.
- Maintaining system boundary authority to operate and compliance with DoD Enterprise DevSecOps mandates including the DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design, Container Hardening guide and cybersecurity requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or technical degree (or industry equivalent).
- 5+ years of experience in software development.
- Direct significant experience integrating legacy Big Data Platforms (BDPs), developing new applications and services, and following agile methodologies in line with US Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), JCWA, and similar DOD environments.
- One or more of the following certifications:
CASP+ CE
CISSP
CISSP-ISSAP
CISSP-ISSEP
CSSLP
CCSP
Desired/Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Cloud-based systems and/or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Development
