About the Role (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):
The Production Technician is responsible for the fabrication of special powders and components, that weigh up to 50 pounds each while keeping: safety, quality, and productivity standards.
* Responsible for supporting operational tasks to meet project requirements including, but not limited to, material batching and mixing, powder processing (milling and spray drying), forming (die presses), furnace and kiln loading/unloading while maintaining process equipment.

Georgia-Pacific Toledo is a producer of brown paper used to make cardboard and is a leader in recycling in the Northwest.
The Toledo Mill is located within a 10-minute drive to the Pacific Ocean.

What You Will Do
* Drive a culture of safety and environmental excellence through critical hazard identification, risk reduction, and risk mitigation
* Collaborate directly with operators, shift leaders and asset managers to meet the business objectives of the department and influence continuous improvement
* Lead teams in the identification, development, evaluation and implementation of safety, quality and/or cost reduction initiatives and projects that add the highest value to the operation to drive continuous improvement
* Integral team member of outage planning and execution of routine and annual machine outages
* Drive process & equipment modifications that result in improved product quality, reduced variation, and higher customer satisfaction
* Assist in development and implementation of capital projects involving process improvements to document and optimize efforts
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Engineering discipline (i.e.
Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Pulp & Paper)
* Experience with continuous manufacturing processes through work experience or project-based work
* Experience using Microsoft Office tools in the following manner: Excel (sorting data, creating tables and creating graphs); Outlook (scheduling tasks, calendar invitations and general professional correspondence); and Word (document creation/editing)
What Will Put You Ahead
* Two (2) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment
* One (1) or more years of experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and/or reliability strategies
* Experience with paper processes and equipment operation
* Experience with chemical process safety
* Six Sigma training and certification

Work from instructions, prints and process specifications
1.
Run multiple pieces of machinery simultaneously in an efficient and safe manner.
2.
Independently set-up 750 partsformer OR either FXP partsformer at standard rate.
3.
Independently troubleshoot and correct all machinery and process problems.
4.
Effectively document tooling usage/consumption
5.
Maintain a clean and organized area; Follow housekeeping expectations
6.
Perform necessary preventative maintenance on machines as required.
7.
Move, load and unload materials as necessary.
8.
Deposit scrap items in designated area.
9.
Use die sets, material handling equipment, overhead cranes, automation feeder, and hand tools and various inspection devices.
10.
Perform tool changes as required.
11.
Perform material handling activities using equipment, including forklifts, according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
12.
Maintain correct concentration of soap to washer.
13.
Retrieve coils from stock and load onto parts former as necessary.
14.
Transport slugs to scales for weigh-in/inventory.
15.
Maintain quality of production using SPC methods at all machines, make any necessary machine adjustments.

Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.

The QC Analyst II is responsible of performing incoming raw materials, in-process samples, intermediate products, final products, and stability samples analytical analysis per approved internal and customer specifications following associated procedures to support both product manufacturing and commercial product release.

* Responsible for peer review of QC data, using both electronic systems and hard copy documentation following GDP.
