* Prepares, labels and stores expressed breast milk in accordance with policy.
* Requisitions and inspects supplies and materials in order to maintain inventory levels and to ensure that standards of quality are met.
* Arranges milk prep rooms for ease of product visibility and according to inspection standards (Food Safety & Sanitation, EOC).
* Rotates fresh milk to freezers to prevent expiration.
Monitors prepared milk and discards if expired.
* Measures/weighs fortification ingredients using a gram scale for powder products and a graduated cylinder, beaker or sterile syringe for liquid products.
* Utilizes the standard recipe charts for preparation of human milk or uses the recipe provided in the comments section of the order.
* Utilizes aseptic technique for preparation of all special mixed milk or modulars for human milk.
* Maintains a strict schedule in order to complete the preparation and distribution of milk.
* Follows appropriate storage time for opened products, utilizing opened/expiration labels for all opened containers being stored.
* Performs all delivery of expressed breast milk to patient’s room.
* Responsible for properly utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Maintains necessary logbooks for utilization of donor human milk.
