The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Medical Center is seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse II to join our team in Moreno Valley.
Under supervision and direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician, the incumbent will be responsible for performing aseptic dressing changes on vascular access devices such as PICC lines, midlines, and central lines, as well as supporting patients during procedures performed by RNs or physicians to ensure their comfort, privacy, and safety.
The role also involves performing ultrasound-guided peripheral IV insertions for both adult and pediatric patients, observing and reporting vascular access site conditions, and promptly communicating any changes to the RN or provider.
Additional duties include participating in daily rounding and quality audits to uphold infection prevention and hospital standards, reinforcing patient and staff education on line care and infection control, and maintaining strict aseptic technique during all vascular access procedures.
This position requires close collaboration with RN VAT members and nursing teams to provide safe and efficient vascular access services throughout the organization; as well as, performing nursing duties within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing in the care of patients in the Acute Care or Emergency Department; and perform other related duties as required.
The LVN II is distinguished from the class of Nursing Assistant, Health Services Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant, in that a state license is required of incumbents, and they perform a more highly skilled form of patient care.
This position does require a valid California Vocational Nurse's License issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners and a valid Basic Life Support (BLS).
This position also requires an active Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal certified by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
Additional Qualifications:

* Minimum one year of recent acute-care experience
* Prior experience with IV therapy, vascular access care, or procedural support
* Strong communication, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills
