Summary:
The Caregiver provides quality health and wellness care to residents of Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL) and Memory Care, ensuring that nursing care aligns with the community's standards of practice and regulatory requirements at all times.
Responsibilities:
• Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring and getting to and from activities.
• Prepares and participates in social and recreational activities.
• Records and reports changes in residents' eating habits to supervisor; assists in meal service; may assist in meal preparation.
• Provides light housekeeping and cleaning.
• Interacts with residents and families/responsible parties and staff; answers questions, gives direction and support.
• Participates in monthly resident forum meetings, weekly management meetings, bi-weekly administrative meetings.
• Meets weekly with Administrator.
• Represents facility in off-site and central office meetings as needed.
• Is a mandatory reporter for all suspected abuse situations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Able to communicate effectively with residents and their families, staff, colleagues and supervisors.
• Ability to read, speak well and be understood in the English language.
Bilingual ability preferred.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Education and Other Qualifications:
• Geriatric experience or current California CNA certification required.
• Minimum 6 months' experience as a CNA in acute or geriatric care setting preferred.
• Current BLS or CPR certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must complete and pass a physical examination with tuberculosis (TB) screen prior to employment.
