Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting general installation, maintenance, and repairs of all company machinery and equipment within the facility, including any maintenance or repairs of the building or property.
The Maintenance Technician works in a safe, effective and efficient manner in compliance with the Company policies, procedures and all legislative requirements.

Job Duties
* Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
* Performs preventative maintenance.
* Inspects certain areas of the facility to ensure good housekeeping and safety provisions are adhered to.
* Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
* Be knowledgeable in the use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
* Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
* Involved in all aspects of building maintenance requirements for all new construction, renovations or updates to current systems.
* Work with site-wide building maintenance to ensure compliance to any construction, renovation or updates.
* Update and maintain documentation as required.
* Support department management, project managers and consultants as required.
* Adhere to Purchasing Department policies / procedures.
* Complete all necessary reports and records related to the department as required.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and Outlook
* Ability to stand up to eight hours per day, including twisting, bending, squatting, sitting, stooping, and kneeling
* Flexibility to travel for extended periods to work with customers
* Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for providing customer support through the performance of on-site installations, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of on-machine control systems.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are preferred but not required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Install Trimble 2D and 3D machine control systems and telematics hardware on Cat and non-Cat branded machines and the professional installation of Cat AccuGrade systems on Cat machines.
* Deliver quality technical assistance on time and ensure customer satisfaction
* Be the primary resource in providing on-machine installation, maintenance and on-machine training on construction heavy civil construction technology at the customer's site
* Ensure the operational quality of the system by documenting post-installation tests

* Ensure that installation, training and other work necessary is completed on time

Physical:
Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb beside, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs.
Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 95 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
