Riverside University Health System (RUHS) seeks multiple Clinical Therapists I/I who will be assigned to Preschool 0-5 Programs with Behavioral Health.

Preschool 0-5 Programs is a specialized program with braided funding (MHSA/PEI, First 5, Medi-Cal) and multiple components with a range of screening, prevention, early intervention, and treatment options.

The program includes multidisciplinary RUHS-BH staff, multiple subcontractors, school district partners, and the Growing Healthy Minds Initiative.

Services are provided at 18 locations across Riverside County to children ages 0 through 6 and their families in clinics, at school-based sites, and on mobile therapy units.

Positions are needed to provide increased patient care to the population of 186,000 children ages 0-5 across the county.

Staff are spread across multiple sites and overextended to make up for vacancies, thus meeting the following department and program obligations has become more challenging:

• Per First 5 funding and contract obligations, Preschool 0-5 Programs is the lead on a project to coordinate an Integrated System of Care for children ages 0-5 across Riverside County.

• The program is responsible for the PCIT and PCIT Toddler training dissemination and fidelity monitoring across RUHS-BH.

• Staff are primarily field-based providing services in 15 cities and at 18 different sites each week (16 of those being school sites).

As vacancies have occurred, existing staff have been moved locations to provide coverage.

Program paraprofessional staff are being utilized to assist with coverage, however, they are unable to provide treatment services and their utilization for coverage reduces their availability to provide support to consumers as their role is intended.

• There is a contract in place with First 5 that includes 17 service targets that must be met to fulfill contract obligations.

• Currently MOUs are in place with partner school districts, which indicate that RUHS-BH will have up to two clinicians available to provide services for school campuses and the surrounding communities.

Due to vacancies coverage has been reduced at school sites and mobile therapy unit locations.

• The mobile therapy units are designed for the units to be regularly staffed by 2 clinicians for employee safety, vehicle maintenance, department liability, and consumer continuity of care purposes.

• The program is designed to provide a range of screening, prevention, early intervention, and treatment options.
