Orthopedic Specialty Nurse

Nemours is seeking an Orthopedic Specialty Nurse in Wilmington, DE.

The Specialty Nurse is responsible for an area of specialized nursing practice and provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families in the inpatient, ambulatory, and outpatient settings.

Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for providing and evaluating nursing care.

Applies knowledge of growth and development, pathophysiology and family dynamics in the delivery of care of the orthopedic patient.

The responsibilities of the Orthopaedic Specialty Nurse will include the following:



* Involvement in assessing, planning, evaluating the care provided to assigned patients.


* Perform initial patient intake.


* Request medical record, studies, images, etc.

and connect with expanded care team members.


* Collect and interpret complex patient data. 


* Triage and respond to phone calls from patient families, healthcare professionals within and outside Nemours, insurance companies, etc.

regarding patient care.


* Accurately record patient information in the electronic medical record.


* Identify clinical questions and seek advice, resources, or information to improve patient care.


* Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


* Bachelor of Science in Nursing


* Must have or be eligible for Registered Nurse in the state of Delaware


* BLS through American Heart Association
