SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

The Director Customer Development leads the development, implementation and monitoring of strategic sales initiatives and direct tactical plans and program to achieve business objectives for assigned customers through leadership and effective team management.

They are accountable for team vision, team structure, attracting and retaining top talent for the direct customer team as well as the cross functional Category, Finance and Retail Operations teams.

This position is responsible for leading the team through 1- 3 year joint business plans, both in store and eCommerce, with customer’s key contacts and negotiation at the Sr.

Director and Sr.

VP level to drive volume and profit growth for Kimberly-Clark brands and customer categories.  This role is responsible for implementing Kimberly-Clark brand strategies and tactics with the customer, leveraging insight creation, strategy development, and influencing customer strategy and plans that deliver market leading results.  The Director of Customer Development must manage Sr.

level customer relationships, category management, business planning and trade management utilizing cross functional resources and data sources.

Also, it is expected, as a member of the Customer Development Leadership Team, that this role contributes to the development and implementation of strategic priorities for the Canadian team.

KEY CUSTOMERS AND CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS:

Key customers for this position are the Sr.

Director and Sr.

VP levels across Merchandising, Replenishment, Supply Chain, Marketing and eCommerce at the customer as well as Kimberly-Clark’s Business Teams, Category Management, Planning, Supply Chain, and Finance.

These customers expect clear, succinct, compelling and timely communication that proactively identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to meet share expectations, net sales and profit. 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

This position reports to VP, Canada Customer Development and interacts internally with the Brand Teams, Customer Teams and other Customer Development staff.
