Patient Access Supervisor

Job Location

The Patient Access Supervisor position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Duties

• The Patient Access Supervisor will coordinate all aspects of the Patient Access areas in a manner that ensures a customer focused quality conscious work climate
• Focused on interpersonal skills, data collection, ability to assess situations, and to assist the team in developing solutions to achieve excellence in customer satisfaction while ensuring the financial viability to the hospital
• Oversees the day to day operations of registration staff
• Assists in scheduling of staff and assessing departmental needs
• Provide continual assessment and feedback to all team members, as well as, providing data regarding quality standards set for Patient Access

Experience

• Four years of experience in a hospital or physician office setting required
• A strong background in customer service with an emphasis on healthcare is preferred

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health, Business Management, or the equivalent in experience

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong supervisory skills
• General knowledge of hiring, disciplinary, and evaluation requirements
• General knowledge of patient accounting
• Knowledge of registration requirements
• Computer skills
• Working knowledge of billing/reimbursement requirements
• Knowledge of insurance requirements
• Ability to interact well with all types of customers
• Ability to develop and implement new processes
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Testing

Must pass pre-hire testing:
• Math (85%)
• Customer Service Testing (85%)
• Data Entry Alpha/Numeric (5500kph)

Additional Information

This position will require on-call responsibilities on a rotating weekend schedule
