LUMBER MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Georgia-Pacific is searching for a Lumber Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Gurdon, AR.

 This position is responsible for developing and/or assembling job plans in accordance with operations’ needs by utilizing job plan libraries, equipment history, maintenance procedures and process information.
 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
 

A successful candidate will have a long term continuous improvement focus that values establishing systemic processes that are system versus people dependent and create sustainable value.


* Participate in leading a safe work culture through example and planning to safely complete work.


* Embrace and cultivate the Market Based Management (MBM) culture by utilizing the MBM framework, guiding principles, and other mental models in everyday decision making.


* Understand and lead the maintenance scheduling and materials coordinating functions, including supervising direct reports performing these roles.


* Build job plans and BOMs.


* Contribute to improvement in the value drivers of the Operations Excellence model, specifically reliability and cost.


* Act as a facilitator between the operations personnel and maintenance supervisor to maximize the efficiency and value of maintenance activities in a way that best utilizes skilled craft workers, material resources and asset availability.


* Work with procurement organization and outside vendors to supply parts and services to support plant maintenance efforts.


* Communicate with and direct contractors on maintenance shutdown days and on as needed basis.


* Demonstrate high sense of urgency and the discipline required to support a 24 hour, 7 day high volume manufacturing operation.

 

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:



* High School diploma or equivalent


* Three or more years of work experience within mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment.


* Experience using Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook) and generating reports


* Experience working in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), SAP, and Microsoft Project programs

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:



* Associates Degree or higher in engineering or maintenance or three years experience maintenance planner.


* Experience reading mechanical and structural drawings.


* Supervisory experience


* Experience in a wood products manufacturing environment
