Business Analyst



The Business Analyst is the representative of business stakeholders on the development team.

The Business Analyst’s primary responsibility is to foster a collaborative environment where the real business needs of the customer are understood and solutions are developed that satisfy those needs.



* Work with project stakeholders to elicit business requirements and ensure the results of the development complies with user and business specifications

* Work from a vision instead of being solely task-oriented

* Drive innovation via process improvements and system enhancements that result in increased productivity and customer satisfaction

* Build strong business relationships across all functional teams involved in releasing or supporting the solution; work with other Business Analysts to understand interdependencies across projects

* Leverage technical experience to communicate technical constraints and approaches; able to question/challenge development and QA resources to facilitate constructive brainstorming and solution design

* Create mockups, prototypes, and workflow diagrams when applicable; work with UX Analysts to ensure products are delivered that meet usability standards

* Work with distributed teams during development & QA to provide guidance and ensure business requirements and functional specifications are met

* Maintain proficiency in the your project’s applications and features and lead demonstrations during development and prior to release

* Assist product management, customer service, training, and other operational teams to ensure a smooth transition of new products and features into production by producing documentation/presentations as needed




* Minimum 5 years experience in Information Technology

* Minimum 3 years performing application/data analysis

* Familiarity with project management principles

* Familiarity with agile development principles

* Relational database experience; ability to write basic database queries and understand relationships between tables




* Critical Thinking - Using sound judgment, logic, and common sense to identify efficient and effective ways of approaching problems or new initiatives

* Planning & Organizing - Appropriately prioritizing activities, scheduling time, and utilizing resources in order to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner

* Customer Service - Treating clients/customers with a high level of respect and taking action in order to meet or exceed expectations and resolve problems

* Communication & Positive Presence - Listening attentively and respectfully; expressing thoughts and ideas effectively and concisely—both verbally and in writing.
