EP Specialty Nurse

Nemours is seeking a Electrophysiology Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Center in Wilmington, DE.

The Registered Nurse (RN), with medical direction from electrophysiologists and cardiologists, will provide care to pediatric patients on the EP Service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, performing device interrogations and programming, triaging EP patient calls, refilling prescriptions (as directed by the physician), and participating in the coordination of care provided by the EP Service.

Acts as a resource for inpatient nursing staff and provides electrophysiology/arrhythmia education and support.

Essential Functions:


* Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee’s supervisor.


* Responsible for monitoring schedules for pacemaker and ICD patients.

Manages remote monitoring of implanted device patients, including pacemakers, ICD, and implantable loop recorders.

This includes reviewing all patient transmissions using several vendor systems/programs.

Involves triaging data received and following up on patients who are non compliant with monitoring/office follow up.


* Retrieving all relevant materials from referring institutions, physicians, and nurses regarding previous care that the child has received and reviewing historical materials to assist in patient care.


* Assisting in the ongoing coordinating of care of patients with cardiac rhythm related issues, which includes triaging patient calls, refilling prescriptions, completing requested forms, etc.


* Maintaining records in implantable device database.

This includes diagnoses, procedure information, and device lead and generator details.


* Coordinates any specialty clinics including acquired arrhythmia clinic and POTS clinics.

Ensures they run efficiently.


* Assists in evaluating device programming, interrogation, technical advice, of implantable devices in outpatient area, operating room, catheterization lab, or inpatient units.


* Facilitates discharge of electrophysiology patients by completing teaching, coordinating follow up visits and arranging home monitoring, as needed.
