Dispatch Specialist - 3rd Shift

3rd Shift, Monday - Friday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm

As the Dispatch Specialist, you will be responsible for direct, effective, and friendly communication with our drivers, and communicating issues both internally and externally.

What you’ll do on a typical day:


* Facilitate professional communication with our drivers over the phone and OBCS (On-Board Computer System)


* Perform essential AS-400 functions to maintain our computer systems


* Perform regular, thorough Fleet Scans to proactively catch and correct issues


* Communicate issues with our internal and external customers


* Complete thorough documentation of all issues involving drivers and loads


* Ensure a high level of on-time service is maintained

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:


* High school diploma or equivalent


* Knowledge of the FMCSR (Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations), and U.S.

and Canadian geography


* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and AS-400; quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications


* Ability to type 25 words per minute

It’d be great if you also have:


* Transportation experience


* Call center/customer service experience


* Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively and get along with diverse personalities


* Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed


* Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills with ability to identify and resolve problems


* Strong organizational, project, and time management skills with ability to multitask and manage customer expectations


* Ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships both internally and externally
