Clinical Applications Specialist - UM

The Clinical Applications Specialist acts independently to create and maintain technical literacy for clinical databases including systems such as Crimson and Epic as well build and maintain excel and share point data files for auditing and measuring clinical processes.

Provide support and training to physicians and management.

Produce reports including data mining, programing and formatting for presentations to answer data needs of multiple constituents.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job


* Conducts computer training programs for end users and assists them in the personalization of clinical and business systems through the development tools, templates and settings.


* Able to monitor and report the frequency and effectiveness of these end user training efforts.  Maximizes findings to increase end user’s utilization of clinical and patient access and financial systems functionality.


* Provides a variety of training concepts, practices, and procedures.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


* Participates in various projects, work groups and team meetings to ensure achievement of quality outcomes, objectives, timetables, and overall integration of best practices in clinical and business office decisions and documentation.


* Identifies and resolves routine problems and issues associated with assigned applications to ensure high levels of application availability and user satisfaction.  Provides end user feedback to clinical teams and technical specialists to ensure understanding of needs, assignments, and overall goals.


* Actively participates in available education and training programs to increase understanding of assigned applications, technology, clinical quality, and general information management.


* Consults with management and staff regarding appropriate and practical use of automation as it relates to existing and proposed clinical applications, leads systems analysis/selection efforts, and guides user support functions so as to optimally acquire and use systems.


* Maintains continuously high levels of end user contact, attending relevant meetings, actively participates in organizational activities, and functions as a key contact and leader for Information Services to ensure communication, collaboration, and teamwork.  Independently identifies and resolves complex problems and issues that arise in and outside of the department.


* Develops, trains, and motivates other IS staff;


* Develop and improve information management policies to ensure a highly competent, professional, and effective IS organization.


* Undertakes ad-hoc assignments as required to react quickly and positively to new or emergent situations.


* Complies with all IS Policies, Procedures and Standards including: Project Management tools/methodologies, Network/Systems/Workstation Security, HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations associated with Electronic Prote...
