Assistant Buyer - FLG

Position Summary:

Support the creation and management the merchandise assortment for our eCommerce sites identifying opportunities for revenue growth and profitability improvements. 
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Buying and Merchandising, Pre-Season:

• Support development of Sales, Receipt and GM targets by working with the Merchandise Manager for the upcoming season taking into account sales history and trend for all Deckers Brands eCommerce sites.

• Assist in creation of monthly flows for sales and inventory to deliver revenue, gross margin and inventory turn plan at the class level and Style/Color level using Oracle Retail tools.

• Assist in creation of brand plans at the Division/Merchant/Buyer level.

• Assist in creating the seasonal Marketing (Go-to-Market) Calendar and Monthly eCommerce Activation Calendar.

• Work in conjunction with eComm Marketing, eComm Site Operations and Production teams ensuring key item buys and product stories are being communicated clearly to consumers.

Buying and Merchandising, In-Season:

• Support execution of the open to ship on a weekly basis, assist in re-forecasting all retail elements predetermined by the corporate timeline and needs.

• Provide insight from bottoms-up planning and support creation of at once execution plans based on sales analysis.

• Review receipts by month based on plan and last rolling operating forecast.

• Create and support presentation of weekly and monthly sales and inventory reporting including but not limited to reports at the pre-determined hierarchy level for daily/monthly demand/net sales, feature story, and key items.

• Meet weekly with cross functional teams to review business results; provide team with financial information for the week at all levels; review the results based on current financial projections, plan, and last year information.

• Make recommendations for future buys and/or cancellations of on-order in season.

• Make recommendations for the clearance of slow sellers to maintain turn targets.

• Assist in creation and analyze of quarterly hindsight data; make recommendations to assortment based on results.

• Ensures that reports are timely and accurate.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities of the Job:

• Understand financial metrics to analyze businesses and can make recommendations on how to drive the business based on sales, history & market trends.

• Assist in merchandise selection process, placement of orders and help ensure proper quantity is purchased by style/color/size for division.

• Support partnership with the Brand Planning, Demand Planning and Merchandise Planning teams to analyze the weekly business.

Assist in creation of recommendations on future buys to grow business.

• Analyze last year information as well as current market to support strategy development.
