Director, Field Representative Learning and Development - Remote opportunity!

Position Objective:

 

Secure the future of agency distribution through applying learning and development solutions to drive FR productivity.

This highly visible role will establish strong consultative relationships to work both internally with home office business unit heads as well as externally with General Agents and their agency leadership teams to consult on the design, development, implementation and measurement of adoption learning and development initiatives to drive business results.

In doing so, this role will increase the credibility of the learning and development function across the organization and culture shift that views learning as a strategic asset for the enterprise.
 
Major Opportunities and Decisions:

 

This position requires a balanced focus on strategy development, program implementation and relationship building.

This position works closely with home office partners who are content subject matter experts as well as field leaders in agencies.

This position manages contracted vendor resources ensuring to budget limitations.

This position requires advanced relationship management skills, leadership and project management skills.

 

Principal Accountabilities:



* Lead development, implementation and execution of new FR development programs including Foundations.

Prioritize enhancement requests from FAB Training Committee.


* Lead team develop project plans and hold people accountable to execute against their responsibilities.


* Define and execute field consultative support strategy to partner with General Agents and their leadership teams to ensure consistent adoption of FR learning and development programs, tools and resources.

Establish feedback loops to ensure what we offer can be implemented and to prioritize future development efforts.


* Responsible for the assessment of all development programs and the reporting of metrics and measure to senior leadership about the impact of programs on business results.

Partner with home office business partners and FAB Field Training Committee to determine priorities.


* Develop communications strategy, design implementation plan and lead execution efforts to ensure appropriate field messaging to maximize effectiveness.


* Supervise, coach and develop team of FR learning & development associates.


* Partner with Head of FR Learning & Development on business strategy, IT and PMO prioritization and expense management to ensure alignment of resources for initiatives.


* Work on special projects as assigned by AVP, Head of FR Learning & Development

Education:  


* 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience

Experience:


* 5 years financial services industry experience


* 5 years learning & development experience – skilled across the board in curriculum development, instructional design, and measuring effectiveness of training programs


* Excellent analytical and communication skills, both oral and written 


* Forward thinking; ability to set vision and identify opportunities 


* Ability to quickly make things happen while maintaining focus


* An “includer” who can see connections and build bridges


* Possess significant knowledge of agency-related business functions


* Ability to interact effectively with Agencies, Home office and industry associations as required to accomplish varies business-related tasks

* Excellent project manager, able to work across up and down throughout the organization as an individual contributor viewed as a leader


* Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory


* Possess good working knowledge of leading PC tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel and willingness and capacity to quickly master new software as required
