Payroll Specialist

Primary Responsibilities
Maintain and service a base of payroll clients of relative size and complexity (small business division) which generally consists of companies with between 1 - 50 employees.

Tasks Performed

* Communicate regularly with clients to obtain payroll data, enter payroll data, answer payroll-related questions, calculate/process payroll and adjustments.

* Research and resolve client/system problems.

* Create, reconcile and transmit export files to 3rdparties, including 401(k) files, bank reconciliations, general ledgers, garnishments, etc.

* Maintain the integrity of SSAE16 procedures and adhere to documentation and procedural requirements.

* Utilize Salesforce CRM for management of data and workflows.

* Maintain working knowledge of current payroll laws and regulations.

* Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients, agencies and coworkers to promote a quality service image.

* Meet daily processing requirements and deadlines.

* Key payroll-related data and information as needed.

* Maintain client files.

Essential Functions

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic computer programs

* Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to quickly learn and utilize new software programs

* Excellent organizational and time-management skills

* Excellent attention to detail

* Clear written and verbal communication skills

* Professional demeanor

* Ability to communicate technical and payroll-related information effectively and confidently


Desired Education
BS in Accounting or related field

Desired Job Experience

1 - 3 years of payroll or customer service experience preferred.

Certifications Required

Payroll Certification (FPC and/or CPP) a plus.
