Field Service Engineer (PWS)

SUMMARY OF ROLE

To provide professional after sales support to the Emerson Process Management Customer base for all products but predominantly for our Ovation Control System.

Tasks will include first line maintenance, site installation, commissioning, start-up and repair services.

Available for all UK locations

PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Acts as first customer contact during project warranty and after warranty period as a team member or independently
• Performs investigation, troubleshooting, resolution and recommendation to issues identified in customer installation in a range of current Ovation products, active Ovation products, maintained Ovation and WDPF products, third party connectivity products, cyber security products, working independently or under minimum supervision
• Independently performs services on site, as well as remotely
• Independently performs scheduled services and on-call services
• Independently performs services in home country and abroad
• Executes DCS migrations, evergreens, service and other KOB3 projects independently or under minimum supervision
• Assists factory acceptance testing and performs installation, start up and commissioning of the above rage of products as a team member or independently
• Conducts Ovation training courses for Operation and Maintenance personnel independently
• Prepares, maintains and updates documentation of performed services, installed base information, Customer contacts and service planning in business systems, working independently or under minimum supervision
• Identifies and reports Sales opportunities as a team member or independently
• Supports Proposals in definition of project scope and cost estimates as a team member or independently
• Supports Sales during contract preparation and negotiation, working under supervision
• Perform assigned tasks / duties with balanced risk while strictly observing the Emerson Business Ethics, Policies and good practices
• Follow and observe all company procedures & trainings related to the Operation Controls as listed below, but not limited to: Trade Compliance, Checkpoint, Records Retention, Quality Management System and Ethics
• Develop Personal and Professional competencies as well as knowledge about Emerson Products & Services
• Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• You will ideally hold an HNC/level in an Engineering discipline, such as electronics, computer science or control engineering
• Experience in repair and servicing of Emerson Process Management and/or competitor products is ideal
• Relevant experience as a Service or Instrument Engineer in a process control/ Power plant environment with a particular emphasis on installation, commissioning and start-up is preferable.
• An understanding of C&I theory including Control loop configuration and tuning
• Have a sound knowledge of Emerson Process Management products form and application, service and operational view is preferred
• Have clear and effective communication skills
• Full driving license
