Leonardo DRS is seeking an exceptionally qualified and proven Airframe Structures Engineer to join our recognized team of experts to provide a solution for the U.S.

Air Force’s T-X program.  Leonardo DRS ties together an exceptional T-100 Integrated Training Systems Team (ITS) comprised of Leonardo Aircraft’s world-class aircraft powered by Honeywell engines integrated with state-of the-art ground-based training from CAE USA.

The T-100 Air Vehicle is purpose-built for a wide range of training capabilities, long-term reliability, and cost effective operations.

Job Title:  Air Vehicle Airframe Structure Engineer

 

Duties and Responsibilities:


* Provides technical management on all design aspects relative to the Aircraft structure such as structural loads (in-flight and on ground), aero elastic stability, etc.

and integrating with the IPT engineers.


* Reviews customer specifications and requirements.  Leads all the airframe and structural aspects.


* Solves technical problems and provides effective solutions on structural aspects.


* Prepares and presents plans, status updates, and briefings to the Air Vehicle IPT and to customer counterparts on the human factor/crew station.


* Ensures that the technical and schedules relative to structural aspects and requirements are met.



* Solves complex technical problems and provides effective and innovative solutions.

Basic Qualifications:


* Masters Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 7-10 years combined experience in Aerospace Engineering, specifically in Structural/Airframe Design.


* Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in engineering requirements management to include development, derivation, validation and verification of Airframe requirements.


* Experience in structural design criteria and systems installation.
