Job Title: Day Work Mechanical Technician - Site based

Location: Northfleet Mill, Kent - UK

As a result of our continued growth and success, a fantastic job opportunity has arisen for a site based Mechanical Technician in our Northfleet Mill.

You will join our brilliant, successful and fun team who are responsible for producing ANDREX®, one of the UK’s most recognisable and celebrated brands since 1942.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

So the first thing to note is that this job is full time based at our Northfleet Mill.  You will not need to travel anywhere else and whilst we will need you to cover in an emergency, in the main you will be working days and a 37.5 hour week!

You will work as part of our asset team and utilise your incredible mechanical technical skills to ensure the rapid resolution of all mechanical issues.  You will be the go to person for ensuring that all technical decisions are made with full awareness of the operational needs so you will need to be comfortable with a high level of responsibility and decision making.

We have a very strong safety ethic at KC and we take safety seriously.  All of our teams are considered safety champions so you will need to be used to working to high personal safety standards and ensuring compliance to UK regulations at all times.  You will also be supporting, and in fact, driving the resolution of any asset safety issues that may arise and you’ll take this one step further by working with the Asset Engineer to carry out risk assessments in support of maintenance tasks and development work.

As you would expect we depend heavily on the reliability of our assets so we need you to support the development of site wide reliability systems.  This will include preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure our assets achieve their operating commitments.  You’ll also be responsible for providing technical advice and expertise on operation and optimisation of equipment and processes to ensure we continue working in a lean way so you’ll need to be a natural problem solver.
